We got some contacts from people that don’t believe it’s dangerous to swim around tarpon. My Father would say “Let God thin the herd…” but I’ll just show them this video:
Before you dismiss this as Oh it’s just a fish, look at the size of the fish, he’s bigger than a human and he swims faster. There are hundred of these sharks in the water looking to eat something shaped much like a human when it swims and they are used to eating things that are much faster at getting away. No if you still want to jump off oyur boat in Boca Grande pass during Tarpon season, go right ahead.
It’s always embarrassing when you fall off the edge of a boat while fishing with a pretty girl. But at least he had a great excuse, he just hooked a big fat tarpon!
On the serious side though. This is the Boca Grande area during tarpon season. Obviously there were big tarpon in the area. That means there is also even bigger hammerhead sharks, bull sharks that are big enough to eat man sized fish right there in the area too. You don’t really want to be in the water in Boca Grande pass during the summer! Did you notice how fast he got back in the boat even though everyone was laughing and smiling? He knew.
This is the first FL Fishing Video on Fl Fishing . TV. It ‘s a long epic battle with a big fat tarpon. This is the classic “ultimate” inshore Fl Fishing Experience that so many people think of when they think of FL Fishing. Which is why we’ve included it the as first video here at Fl Fishing . TV.
In case you’ve never been tarpon fishing, it certainly can be worth all the effort it takes. Not my favorite kind of Fl fishing but I sure can see the appeal. Did you see that huge fish jumping out of the water over and over again? They get away quite often, so it takes some knowledge and preparation.
