Personally I think this guy is obnoxious, but he is trying to be entertaining and even has a custom snook fishing song in the video. Maybe just a little bit too much of him in the video. You might want to turn down your speakers before clicking play on this one:
Here’s a video of a guy accidentally catching a monster snook on Sanibel beach FL.
How do you accidentally catch on of the hardest game fish to catch, on light tackle none the less? Simple. Step 1 -Get really lucky. Step 2- Have great reel skills. Evidently this guy is a shark fisherman who was trying to catch some bait for shark fishing later that night. All that practice playing big fish worked out well for him, as he exhausted that poor big female snook before he landed her.
It was a horrible release, it’s a little heart breaking to think that snook probably died a short while after release. This is made all the worse by the fact that he was trying to comply with the law that says you can’t keep snook during their mating season and that are larger than a certain size (the larger ones are breeding females).
Everyone loves to catch a snook. Even a pretty girl. Actually this one does have a pretty girl in it but that’s not we posted it here. We think it’s actually funny. The guy behind the camera keeps going on about how the camera doesn’t have any sound.
Like snook? Want to help keep them around? Maybe even see the snook population increase? Well then help these out with some data! They aren’t asking much. Just give up some info after your fishing trips, that’s all.
While this video isn’t a Florida Fishing show, it’s still educational and informative. It shows us that snook really do love to feed at night and yes they will eat or try to eat a needlefish, even if that needlefish is half as long as they are!
This guy was evidently on vacation. I don’t if he did any fishing for these hungry snook. If if he did I’m pretty sure he would have been hooked up left and right! Well that is as long as he was using a lure that looked like a needlefish or a live needlefish. Snook get in those moods you know and they’ll eat only one thing sometimes.
